ImageOn January 16 we heard from James Lamont, a fascinating speaker who shared his extensive knowledge of the development and implementation of the atomic bomb. Mr. Lamont lived in Japan in the post-WWII years and has seen firsthand the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He was able to make nuclear fission interesting to our mostly non-scientific audience and corrected a number of common misconceptions about the terminology and characteristics of the bomb.

ImageClub member Tom Coyle also presented a flag from the Rotary Club of Kawana Waters, Queensland, Australia. Thanks, Tom!
