Donate Now to the Well Being Project

Well Being was founded by three local students who felt that, where the most basic human needs are lacking, they have an obligation to make a difference. Access to clean water is a fundamental human need and therefore a basic human right. Without clean water, almost nothing else matters.

More people die every year from unsafe water than all forms of violence ... including war. One child every 17 seconds dies from unsafe water.... 5,000 died today.

The mission of Well Being is to provide sustainable high-impact solutions to the need for clean water in African communities. The initiative raises awareness and funds to dig wells in identified African villages.

Please help by making a tax-deductible donation to the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary Foundation today. By clicking the button at left, you can ensure that your donation will be earmarked for the Well Being project.

Donations to Well Being are used to help fund the Water & Sanitation Rotarian Group (WASRAG). Through WASRAG, villages are selected to receive wells.

The Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary Club has partnered with Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest to raise funds for Well Being. In 2012 the Middle School held a walkathon and raised $2,500 for the cause, which was matched by our club. We continue to add donations from our members for this cause and welcome donations from the community as well.

Through the power of Rotary matching grants and the generosity of our neighbors, Well Being has the ability to make a significant difference in the quality of life of people in developing countries affected by the clean water and sanitation crisis. Well Being also engages students in a cause that opens their eyes to the world outside their experience and empowers them to taking an active role in a global effort to fight disease.

Thank you for your generosity.
